Pricing Your Items
1. More than anything else- PRICE TO SELL!! There’s nothing more thrilling than cleaning out your closets and making some money at the same time.
2. Let your things go for HALF-PRICE! It’s much better to at least get 50% for your items than to have to take things back that you don’t need. If you are going to donate your items then for sure you want to let them go for ½ price!
3. A good way to know how to price your items is to tag them at 25%- 30% of the retail price. This will vary according to the brand of your item and the shape that it is in. Pricing at the consignment sale is very comparable to the prices you will see in consignment stores. Below are some examples for pricing your things.
o $2-4 for play shirts, shorts, etc. (NO STAINS OR HOLES) $3-7 for nicer shirts or shorts, $6-10 for nice 2-piece outfits, $4-8 for jeans, $6-15 for nice dresses, $10-18 for multi-piece sets. These are examples for more common brands, such as Carters, Gap, Old Navy, Osh Kosh, Gymboree, Ralph Lauren etc. There are a few that may be priced higher. Boutique and European brands such as Oilily, Strasburg, Orient Expressed, Mis Tee V Us, Baby Lulu, etc. For off brands you will have to price them a little lower.
o Strollers- prices will vary depending on the brand, condition, and style. Most of the strollers (excluding umbrella strollers) will be in the $25-65 range. Double stroller may possibly go higher, but please remember to price to sell.
o Cribs- will usually go between $25-100, depending on age, style, condition, and brand.
o Walkers and Bouncy Seats- $5-25.
o Car Seats- $15-50
o Pack-n-Plays- $10-50
o DVD’s $2-8
